At last we found tthe rare Purple Vipers Burgloss which has naturalised on a NT farm between St Just and Lands End. It has not been planted but the field management has encouraged it to become dominant in a sequence of fields. It is a beautiful plant, only found in the south and west of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. We had heard about it but it has taken four attempts over two years to actually locate it. Anyway we did, at last, last week. Not a soul in sight. It was wonderful and inspired me to create this painting.
An original painting in acrylic on a stretched canvas, size 75 x 50cms.
