Woodland Spring, Godolphin
Woodland Spring, Godolphin

Painted during the Coronavirus lockdown from previous visits, sketches and photos of the bluebells in the woods at the National Trust property Godolphin House. I love the bluebell season, the colour and especially the scent of swathes of bluebells really give me a lift, and so to overcome the lockdown blues, I slowly and steadily indulged myself in creating this painting, using layers of oil paint to build up the texture and depth of the woodland.

An original painting in oils on a stretched canvas 40 x 40 cms.
